Ashlyn arrived into the richly decorated Great Hall with Hope, a smile creeping across her face as she gazed at the artificial night sky. Time seemed to move slower within the great hall, people laughing, smiling, joking. She walked over to the Slytherin table, hunger ripping her a part from the inside out.

Hope gazed towards the night sky. Much to her amazement it was not the sky at all! A bewitched ceiling or sorts. Shooting stars found their way through the misty ceiling. The clouds parted and a deep blue could be made out as a back drop to the nights beautiful show. "Wow...What is that?"

Ashlyn glanced back up towards the ceiling with a slight smile. "I'm not sure. I think it's a spell... it's enchanted to reflect the night sky, I believe. Amazing, isn't it?" she commented. Ash found herself utterly enamored by everything having to do with Hogwarts. Every golden plate on every table, every floating candle, every moving painting, every suit of armor, every dark corner and every shining window. Just... everything. She sat herself down at the long table, her thoughts reeling. She piled her plate with food, silently noting that she had missed it's mysterious appearance at the table (she had heard all about the gasp-worthy display). She promised herself that she'd see it the next morning at breakfast.

Hope sat in silence for the next ten minutes eating eveything thing within arm reach. Soups, breads, chicken, cookies, cakes, pies...they all fell victim to the hunger of this ravenous girl. When she had finally drained her third cup of pumpkin juice, she turned to Ash and Bridget. "So....uh...yea...*ahem*" awkward....awkward...say something. "Ha...uh...griznea..." What!? griznea?! is that even a word?! Stop talking! She twisted her red hair between her fingertips silently praying to her non-existent gods that this wouldn't crash and burn as soon as her other friendships had....

Bradley walked into the Great Hall and looked around. He spotted Ashlyn sitting next to unformiliar girl. He had been looking for Ashlyn because she had his book. He walked up to Ashlyn and sat next to her. I wonder what she did with Dante? He decided to introduce himself first to prevent being rude. Bradley gave a smile to the unformiliar girl, held out his hand and said "Hello, I'm Bradley. I'm a 3rd year in Slytherin."

"hey..." Hope took this strangers hand in hers. She smiled back and said, "aren't you dating the Ginny girl?"

Ashlyn held back a small laugh at Hope's uncanny knowledge of the school already. She wondered with awe how the rather thin girl could keep such a frame and still devour half of the table. It was rather impressive. "Oh, Brad, I have your book, by the way," said Ashlyn, suddenly remembering. "But it's back in the dormitories. I can give it to you after dinner."

Hope squirmed in her seat and suddenly was overcome with a need to get outside. "I know it's late and everything....but do you guys want to go out to the pitch and play a game of quidditch? i mean, thats if you have brooms...if you dont wanna i understand..."

"No, I'd love to...," Ashlyn said. She frowned. "But, I actually don't have a broom. Too many galleons." She glanced longingly out of the high-arched windows beyond the Headmaster's podium. "We could... I don't know, take the brooms from the practice shed. Just to borrow," she quickly added. "Though, we should take care not to get caught, or our house points are going to go down the gutter... we're losing as is," she mumbled.

"Well its late so i dont think the teachers will be out looking for anyone by the practice shed...im sure it will only take a simple charm to open the shed anyways." With that said, Hope stood from the table and clambered over the bench with a little less grace than she had hoped for. "Shall we?"

Ashlyn stood up reluctantly. "Umm... yeah, alright. Let's go," she said.

Hope was looking forward to a round of quidditch when it suddenly hit her: today students were going to Hogsmeade! She spun around almost knocking into Ash and said, "Hey! can we put this on hold? i think people are going to hogsmeade today? Care to go? I hear they have some great shops!"

Ashlyn smiled at this sudden burst of energy. "Yeah, sure. Some of the pubs are a bit dodgy, but I love it," she commented. "Where do you want to go first?"

"Excellent," said Ashlyn. She'd never yet visited the renowned joke shop, but she'd heard wonderful things...
