Darius smiled crookedly, and swung one leg over the handle. "Well," Darius said nervously, patting the place behind him. "Are you going to get on or not?" He swallowed and then reminded them both, "Luckily all we have to do is fly right into-" he pointed, "-that window. That's not that far, and it's something any basic broom can handle." Darius gave a watery grin at his pun. "Did you get my pun?" he asked Faye, giggling stupidly.

Faye had to laugh with him. She was all in for lame jokes. "Yes, I got your pun." She then swung her leg across the back of the broom and nervously held onto Darius. "Ready when you are." She took a deep breath and bent her head behind Darius' back, shielding herself from anything that could fly into her face.

ooc: fly into your face? Are you protecting your face from bugs? Darius swallowed and fixed his eyes on the Common room window, and he bit his tongue, pushing off. The broom handled well, but rose a few inches shorter than it should have with the force of his kick. Darius patted the back of Faye's head for both of their comfort, and with one hand off the broom it lurched to the right, but he quickley regained control and pointed it in the desired direction. "Lean forward!" Darius commanded as he pushed the broom upwards at a steep incline. "Don't slip off, the drop will kill you! Hold on tighter!" The broom climbed slowley, leaving more time for the students to worry about the broom's condition. "This is taking too long! Faye, what if it shuts down!?"

((yes darius - i dont want bugs flying into my face! i meant just random objects - dirt and stuff lol)) The broom didn't fly high as she imagined it to have and it was going at a steady slow pace. As Darius patted Faye's head for comfort the broom lurched to the side. Screaming she grabbed onto Darius but was back on course again. Breathing steadily in and out she closed her eyes. "Don't slip off, the drop will kill you!" "Thanks! That's really comforting." She scowled, leaning forward as Darius had ordered. She held on tighter but as they leant forward the broom didn't even progress faster. "Darius! What's going on?" She asked. "What if it shuts down?!" She cried out in distress in reply to his answer. "Urm......Darius!" She called out to him again. She forgot to mention to him that she didn't like flying that much even though she is the quidditch captain. "What kind of spells do you know?" She asked fearfully.

"I know enough to get good marks, but I don't know any for stalled brooms!" Darius whimpered, as the broom kept crawling upwards at a mind-numbingly boringly frightening pace. ((ooc: try saying that five times in a row.)) "But I hope that it will make it...LEAN!" Darius shouted, obeying his own orders as they came within meters of the windowsill. He reached out an arm (which momentarily capsized the broom, but he regained their balance) to reach for the ledge. But the incline caused his fingers to scrape against stone. His fingertips clawed at the walls as they began to drift closer to the building but above the window. "What?! We missed it?!" Darius moaned, letting his arm drop as the broom continued to climb. He leveled the broom out and tried to halt it. "Should we even try to dive back to the window?" Darius cried, trying to turn his head around to look at Faye, once the broom had come to a stop. "The roof is really close, we could probably land there and then just crawl down..." ((ooc: just tell me if I write to much...sorry I had to make you go back and reply to each thing. I think I'm going to try and say less.))

((no, i like it that you write a lot! it just makes it more interesting....)) "You don't know how to stall a broom?!" Faye tightly squeezed her eyes and tried to compose herself. ((that is a very hard tongue-twisting sentence)) She saw the feeble attempts that Darius made as he tried to grab the ledge and winecd slightly when he clawed at the walls. "Let's not go back down." Faye replied to his question. "We'll land on the roof and uh....figure things out from there." She sighed. "Can we hurry up? Suddenly I need to go to the toilet." She blushed, giggling slightly.

Darius felt more like throwing up than wetting himself, but both were options. He was frightened at the thought of jumping from the broom 10 feet onto a slanted stone rooftop that ended with a 10 story drop ((ooc: is that high enough, you think?)). He nudged the broom forward, so that they would have more time to regain their balance if they jumped down, before they fell off the ledge and to their deaths. "You have to jump first," Darius reminded her with a pitying smile. "If I jump first, the broom will drop."

((ahh i laughed at: "Darius felt more like throwing up than wetting himself" )) "I have to jump first?" Faye looked at him incredulously. "Fine. I need to pee anyway." While holding onto Darius' shoulder she turned her body to the side and slung her leg to the other side. Then taking a deep breath she slid off the broom and landed on the rooftop with a loud bang. Her knees buckled as she landed and she let herself roll, learning from a Muggle Award Scheme that when you fall you should fall softly and not restrict it. But since the roof was slanted, she started rolling down to the gutter - something that she didn't plan. ((should we make the roof slanted or flat??? I don't know......i think it'll be more interesting to make it slanted lol )) "Darius!!!!" She called out for help, unable to stop rolling.

((ooc: slanted---more drama that way)) Darius, who now had the broom to himself, had a fleeting thought of just leaving Faye and returning safely to the window himself, but his friendship with Faye drove Darius to loosen his grip from the broom and drop to the slanted roof top, his knees acting as shocks for the rest of his body against the stone. He shouted with pain and then rolled down the rooftop, towards Faye. "Dig in your fingers!" Darius yelped, gripping the stone surface.

((darius im confused - are you rolling with your broom?)) Faye heard Darius yelling something but amidst the action she couldn't figure out what he had told her to do. As she reached the gutter, the only thing that came to her mind was to grab onto the ledge. Full of determination, she focused on her main objective which as dramatic as it was...was to see her friends again and laugh at the rooftop incident with Darius safely back at the Ravenclaw common room. So as her body fell across the ledge she grasped the gutter with her fingers. She couldn't see where Darius was and she didn't know what else to do. She tried to pull herself back up into the roof but she felt something snap under her fingers. She looked up fearfully and saw that the gutter was starting to come off. "Darius! Where are you?" She said frantically.

((No, I jumped off that long ago.)) Darius, who was panting as his fingers scraped stone roof to hold their grip, heard Faye shout his name. Darius looked behind him by twisting his neck painfully, and realized that most of Faye was not on the roof any longer, and he could see only her fingertips. He screamed her name and sat up, dropping his hands from their notches in the roof. He slid down to the ledge of the tower, blanched with fright, but determined to catch Faye's hand, and rescue her from falling. At the last moment before capsizing over the egde, Darius dug in his heels, and leaned in the direction of the incline. These actions slowed his drop, and it allowed him to regain control of his mind, which had been still from shock. He stretched out both arms and shrieked to her, "FAYE! MY HANDS ARE HERE! GET OFF OF THE GUTTER!"

"Get off the gutter?" Faye panicked. "How?" She was desperate to get back up but how was she just going to let go of the gutter and grasp onto Darius' hands? But as the gutter creaked further she reluctantly extended one hand to Darius, keeping a firm grasp with the other one. "Do you have a firm grip on something else?" She worded her question so it indirectly asked him whether he was going to be able to hold onto her with his strength.

"Good!" Darius shouted back to her, her hand in his tight grip. He was pulled down the roof at a quicker rate as he struggled to keep them both from falling. With his left hand Darius pulled out his wand, and as his knees went swinging over the ledge, he pointed his wand at Faye and said with force, " MOBULUS CORPUS!" And as he dropped off the tower he carefully made sure to point her and let the spell carry her into the Ravenclaw common room window. Darius began to cry from fear as he dropped to the ground, but meanwhile was laughing, proud of his chivalry. ((ooc: I'm sorry if you considered that spell powerplaying, but doesn't that spell allow you to move the person around without them interferring?))

ooc: by the way (before this topic ends), when you first made the title did you pronounce 'winged'; "winged" or "wing-ed"? I've always pronounced it the latter, and I think that makes it sound much more interesting (although your first post was very strange and interesting to begin with).
