After sprinting almost halfway across the grounds Ebin dove and missed. He rolled over, spat out a mouth full of grass and hopped up again. The animal was taunting him. It was just 6 feet away. Ebin snarled at it and the dog growled back. Ebin londged and manage to get a grab on the stick. He pulled the dog toward him, lifted his leg over the dogs back and pinned him in between his legs. He grabbed and pulled at the stick but the dogs nose was wrinkled and he was growling louder with every tug. Ebin reached over and gave the lose skin under the dogs chin a small tug. He dog snapped at Ebin's hand and the stick was Ebin's. It was dripping with slobber and chewed on but it was his. Ebin did a summer-salt to escape the dog and landed with a plop on the grass. He raised the stick above his head so Dog couldn't reach it. He stood up and waited for Navra but Dog kept jumping for the stick.

((you sound like you are part dog yourself, alex)) Navra handed Ebin back his jacket and gave a flick of her wand so Dog was leashed again. "Yep, he's a good Dog," she said conversationally. "He may look like one drowned rat but he's got the spirit of 20 alive ones. I'm not really a dog person or an animal person, come to think of it, but I think he's growing on me. What do you think of the name "Dog"?" Navra gave a sarcastic smile.

Ebin smile, sweaty and panting he took a few minutes to regain breath. "Thanks." He said taking back his leather jacket. Ebin had no intension of putting it on so he throw it over one shoulder. "We seriously need to think of a name." He looked down at the pathetic leashed dog. "He's ugly, may I suggest the name Darius?"

"That's a horrible name, no. But I like "Dog" because I've always had animals named like that! I had two rats and they were both named "rat". I guess it's a family tradition...something in our family that doesn't have an exotic or strange name. Plus, there would be no confusion as to what sort of animal it is."

Ebin eyed the dog again. "I guess Dog fits it. And about getting confused it is a good idea. People might think that the castle is beginning to have an infestation." Ebin was breathing normally again and the bit of a breeze made the day tolerable. He noticed a patch of trees not for away with a view of the lake. "Mind if I sit down?" He nodded toward the trees so Narva understood the idea.
