Ashlyn stepped through the door, crossing the threshold from calm, civil streets, to mutiny in the form of sugary goodness. There was candy everywhere, lining the walls, littering the floor, decorating the room in a sweet delight. She had her hand in her book bag, lightly fingering the book she momentarily wished to dissapear into. She didn't do too well in crowds, preffering less people and more time to stray with her thoughts. However, this was a special occasion, because friends were involved and she was going to have a good time.

Bradley came in following Ashlyn. He too had a new book in his hands. He looked intensely at the cover and read aloud, “The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts.” Bradley flipped quickly through the thick book. Sighing he asked Ashlyn “Your sure it’s not bad for me to read this? It’s not going to cause brain damage is it?” Come on Brad reading isn’t that bad of a thing. This might even bring you closer to Ashlyn. Bradley thought. Hey if it gets me talking to Ashlyn I won't mind.

Ashlyn chuckled slightly, turning around to watch Bradley fiddle with his new book as he sighed with exasperation. "Reading isn't going to do you any harm, Brad. Don't worry about it," she said. The reluctancy on his face as he stared at the leather-bound thing was insanely amusing, and Ashlyn had a hard time keeping a straight face as she removed it from his hands and began pointing out interesting chapters.

Bradley eyes were wide. Wait. Chapter 27 is about what?! 27 chapters! Holy Crap! Bradley thought. "You know if I read this book it will be the longest book I have ever read". Bradley then added "That's excluding text books." But I didn't exactly read those text books either. He thought. Bradley picked up a bag of Fizzing Whizzbees. "Those are probably my favorite. What do you like? Oh and don't worry about prices, I'm buying!"

Ashlyn laughed at Bradley's comment. "No worries, I'll get you reading by the time this year is over," she said with a smile. She followed his eyes to the candy, her grin spreading eagerly across her face, like that of a child's. "I'm positively in love with the Sugar Quills. Fantastic idea, don't you think?" She momentarily forgot about her book as she lifted her hand from her bag and took a better look around. "And, you don't have to pay for me, Brad. If that was the case I might be tempted to by out the store!" She turned around and gave him a bright smile, not fully immersing herself in the busy room, but now fully aware of the immense candy surrounding her.

"Yeah, Sugar Quills are good but it still doesn't beat," Bradley picked up a box of peppermint flavored candies. "Peppermint Toads" Bradley finished. "They hop in your stomach." Bradley shook the box up and down. "It can't get much better then that."

"True," Ashlyn said. "But, what about jellyworms?" she said, running her hands over the glass jars. She stopped at a jar packed with little black chunks, observing it for a moment. "Ugh, cocroach clusters!" she exclaimed, laughing. "I can never handle those..."

Bradley walked over to the jar of cocroaches and took some out. He held them on his hand and said with a playful smile "I dare you to have one." Bradley didn't like the cocroaches himself he just wanted to see what Ashlyn would say. "If you eat it I will buy you some Sugar Quills, take you out to Hogshead, and buy you a drink when were there." He held his hand up to Ashlyn and watched the cocroachs crawl around.

Ashlyn looked up at Bradley in horror. However, his offer WAS tempting.......... in a moment of brief insanity, she reached up and snatched two roach clusters from his hand and popped them into her mouth, cringing at the gritty taste. She made a series of faces and then swallowed dramatically. "Ah, there. Now, on with your end of the deal," she said with a grin.

Bradley couldn't help but laugh at the look on Ashlyn's face. He clasped his hands over his mouth. "You did it?!" Bradley rinkled up his nose and said "How did it taste." Thinking of Bradley's end of the deal he walked over some sugar quills and Whizzing Wisbees. And then turn to Ashlyn. "Come on do tell."

She laughed, secretly reaching into the jar and grabbing another. "The experience was truly horrible," she began, creeping up behing him. "However, it's much too hard to describe, so...," she reached around him from behind and attempted to shove the tiny cluster into his mouth, jokingly, "why don't you find out for yourself?" she laughed.

Bradley now had a small creature crawling in his mouth. He stuck out his tongue and looked at it move. Well, thats disgusting. Bradley thought. He turned to Ashlyn with a beatle crawling on his out stretched tongue. "This is nasty." Bradley tried to say with his tongue out. "Well, here goes nothing." Bradley said as he took a large bit out of the beatle. As he swallowed he said "Thanks, that was a once in a life time experience I hope to never repeat", with that Bradley put the items on the counter. He turned to Ashlyn and said "Now your paying for the Hogshead. By the way you got a leg... or is that an intena... right there." Bradley said jokingly as he pointed in between his own tooth.

Ashlyn gasped, quickly running her fingers over her teeth and convulsing slightly. "Gah! Disgusting...," she muttered, before laughing at her small outburst. "I can't even handle children's candy. This is my life."
