Howl's Moving Castle is the best movie I have ever seen! It seriously is. Those who haven't seen it, go see it soon, because it probably will be wrenched out of theaters in a few weeks. And also, it's only playing in large cities, so GO! But it is anime, so those who don't like anime should take caution, but the art style isn't important, it's the morals and the imagination and consideration put into all the characters and storyline!

WOW! I am glad so many people saw it! I really liked it. I don't know about it being better then Princess Mononoke. They are both really different.
Does anyone read Manga?

Some of it...But most of the ones I own are in Japanese--but soon I'll be able to understand them. My japanese classes just started! By the way, Troy, can you speak Japanese? You spoke it in the Library post, so I was wondering if could really speak it. If you can, maybe you can teach me some.

I grew up in Japan. But my parents had a messy divorce so my dad, who I live with most of the time, cringes when ever I say anything remotely Japanese. My mother was born and raised in Japan and speaks it all the time. So I have kind of forgotten most of it but I love the culture. I have been there many times but surprisingly most people in Japan, or at least where I stay, speak english very well.
Have you ever been to Japan? That is so neat that you are learning it. Isn't the alphabet crazy confusing? What dialect are you learning and what alphabet are you using?

Yes, I've been to Japan, and no, the alpahbet isn't crazy or confusing. In fact, it's relatively easy, once you can find the repeating shapes and memorize them all. Otherwise the only hard part is the sentance structure, which is really different from english. Right now i'm learning Hiragana, but soon we will be learing Katagana as well.

I love Japan! I am half Japanese. (my father is Canadian and my mother is full Japanese) I love that I am from such an awesome culture. Last time I was in Japan (over the Christmas holidays) I met some Australian exchange students in Kagoshima and it they were really nice. If you ever get the chance you should really go. I have never been to Australia so I couldn't compare then but Japan has such a different culture I am sure it would be amazing.
Darius: What part of Japan have you been to? My family lives on the lower island of Kyushu. You're really lucky. I stink at languages so I didn't fully pick up the language (and then there is my dad in the way).

I've been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Koyasan. I only stayed in Japan for a period of two weeks- but by that time I was so affected by Japan that I have to go back. It's been a year since I've gone, and because I have nostalgia, I decided to take Japanese. Now I can read and write Hiragana, but not comprehend it. Luckily I will be able to be partially fluent in time for my exchange student program in a few years!

Wow. That is alot of Japan. I have only explored the lower island. If you end up doing the exchange program and you stay in Kyushu then you should board with my family members. They are spread all over and would love to give you hospitality!

I went to Japan with my family on a whim--and also because I like anime so much. But then I realized that Japan is a lot more than anime (I was naive back then). I thought you were austrailian! How long have you lived there, then? And I know it's beautiful-- I saw Finding Nemo. (Just kidding...actually, I did a report on Austrailia back in 3rd grade and ever since then I've really wanted to go there.) Right now i'm learning how to say, "what's your phone number?" Anata no denwa bangoo wa nan des ka? "My phone number is...." Watashi no denwa bangoo wa.....des." uhgh...but right now i have to study for the japanese test.... sayonara for now.

I totally get it. Because what's your name is: Anata no nomi wa nan des ka. (no need for a question mark ka says that for you.) so the only difference is name (nomi) and phone number (denwa bangoo). That is so neat! I wish my pa wasn't so nasty about the whole "no speaking Japanese" thing. I hate devorse...
Snailo: If you go to Japan you can stay at everyone of my relatives houses for as long as you want! ;D

I am rereading the Prisoner of Azkaban (it has been awhile). The movie slaughtered it! Anyway, Darius reminds me of Persy so much! When he got his Head Boy badge and Fred and George kept making fun of him. Hee hee.... I couldn't stop laughing.
How did you two find the site?

Darius is like Percy before...he went evil. About me being like my character----I used to not want Darius to be like me, but then he kind of turned out that way. I'm not as anal about responsibility as he is, and I don't really care about status, but otherwise Darius is mostly like me. Even a little in appearance (same wiry build and bowl-hair [ and my mother does like my haircut...I think it's ugly.) I found the site because my friend was the adiministrator--but she's got bored of it and left it under our (Faye and I's) care. So Troy, be thankfull that you are on our good side, for we are the ultimate rulers!! So if anyone bothers you (even though we are roughly the only survivors now) just tell us and we can edit their posts to make them say something funny. (I would never abuse my mod power like that, by the way.) And hold on, Faye. Did I say that I had gone to Austrailia? Or did Troy? I don't think anybody here has ever gone to Austrailia (pardon you, obviously). The third book is my favorite! I am a Sirius fan...although there's no point in liking him anymore... I can settle for Lupin now, I suppose. I also like Fred and George, and Ron. I'm not very original when it comes to favorite characters--I like those who impress me.
